Atlantic Canada Spring Scent Detection Challenge

Do you like watching the scenting skills of police dogs, border patrol dogs, or explosives dogs? If so, we have the event you do not want to miss. Ordinary pets and owners will show off their extraordinary skills in finding specific target odour. These dogs and owners will go head to head under time constraints, and distractions to see who can locate all the hidden targets in the shortest amount of time.

The preliminary competitions will lead up to the final show down on Sunday where it will be a no holds barred competition to see which of the finalists can hold it together to clear the main arena of all target hides. Teamwork will be crucial to see who comes out as top dog.

The audience will also have a chance to vote for their favorite dog that they want to see in the final competition. If you see a team that you think deserves a spot as the audience favorite, be sure to watch and vote for your favorite.

Look for the Atlantic Canada Spring Scent Detection Challenge daily in the Main Arena – Final Show down on Sunday!

Bio – Barb Deg (Front N’Scenter Canine Enterprises) and K9 Camo

Barb comes from a lifelong background of working and training dogs. Although she has a love of all dog training, her special interest is gundogs and scent detection dogs. She has trained dogs of all ages and breeds to participate in sporting scent detection. Her interest in scent detection led her to train a professional detection dog.

K9 Camo is a 1 year old English Springer Spaniel who loves life and everything and everyone he meets. He has not met a game that he did not think was a fabulous game to play. His love of life and learning made him an easy choice to train for bed bug detection. Camo spends multiple hours a week maintaining his detection skills. Recently, Camo’s ability to use his nose and learn on the spot, led him to be deployed to help track a missing dog. He led Barb and the searchers to the area where the dog was located and she was reunited with her owners that day. In Camo’s free time, he has a love affair of all things water and swimming.
